Video: Fedora 7 highlights
by The editorial team
Video by Kristin Hondros and Tim Kiernan. Produced by Kristin Hondros and Kim Jokisch.
What’s new in Fedora™ 7 (besides a shortened name)? Just a few important things:
- No more division: Fedora Core and Extras have been combined into one seamless software universe.
- We’ve entered the era of the remix. If you don’t like our Fedora you can make your own.
Watch the video. You’ll see what we mean.
And when you’re done, get your copy of Fedora 7 via Bittorrent at torrent.fedoraproject.org.

I’m sorry but ubuntu has absolutely nothing like revisor and pungi that I’ve seen. Troll somewhere else.

Nothing like revisor..

Enough with your ubuntu crap! If you like it so much then stay on their website. The revisor tool is the best i’ve seen so far at bringing remixing to the masses. Thanks fedora community!

Lloyd- It seems that’s the same thing that fedora guys want
“Fedora 7′s tools for building custom versions, or spins, will make it easier for groups to create Fedora variants, in the way that Ubuntu backers have spun off the KDE-centric Kubuntu and XFCE-based Xubuntu from the project’s GNOME-oriented offering.”

Better copy and re-brand than to create something new right ?
kjb – pungi ? okay, smthg diff… but who’s going to use that kind of stuff when the releases are in a fair amount of time… I want, and other ppl too, want to use software less buggy and new…
Jason – calm down, its nothing personal…

“Better copy and re-brand than to create something new right ?”
Who copied what? You don’t know what you are talking about. How much software has Red Hat written that Ubuntu has “copied”? Way more than vice versa I bet.

Ubuntu? Just another Debian based distro that hasn’t contributed much of anything to the Linux community. I’ve used Fedora Core dating back to 3. Fedora 7 is fantastic! No more dual boots with “Windows”. I am Microsoft free!

Ubuntu is pure gayness

Remixer sounds like a good idea but let’s face it.. joe user won’t use it, they’ll download the ISO and be done w/ it. The only ppl who MIGHT use it are businesses and enterprise users, and they’re all using.. yep, you guessed it.. RHEL. Fedora just is NOT ready for business.. those guys use RHEL server and desktop.
Nice try though..

This is a great tool. Being in the UK there is no legal issue so I can mix all the mp3/dvd support and nvidia/ati drivers from livna. Making a real world usable OS in one install.

I will give a try, i am working on a Fedora 8 currently,
Thanks for share.
Fedora goes nice, and working on fedora is a plus for people who use redhat or centos as a web server.
